Castrol Hyspin AWS 68 has been specially formulated to provide good anti-wear and thermal stability performance using proven additive technology. The careful blend of additives with a high quality base stock ensures that Castrol Hyspin AWS 68 has excellent hydrolytic and oxidative stability while exhibiting a minimal tendency to produce sludge and deposits.

In addition, Castrol Hyspin AWS 68 provides corrosion protection to ferrous and yellow metal components found within a hydraulic system. This range is designed for use in industrial hydraulic systems which require antiwear protection such as lightly loaded gears, variable speed units and bearings. The Castrol Hyspin AWS 68 is compatible with the most commonly used nitrile, silicone and fluropolymer seal materials

Magna SW D 150 meets the demands of challenging applications such as grinding machines, horizontal boring mills, or CNC machining centers. Magna SW D 150 can also be used as a combined hydraulic and way oil.

The Alpha SP range is recommended for the lubrication of industrial gear boxes using forced circulation or splash and oil bath lubrication. They may be used for the lubrication of spur and helical gears and in some lightly loaded worm type gear applications. They have very good viscosity characteristics to ensure starting torques are not excessively high in cold operating conditions. The additives are compatible with the ferrous and non-ferrous metals used in industrial gear units. The Alpha SP range is compatible with the most common types of seal materials.

Rotary Screw Compressor Lubricant

Application CASTROL Aircol CM 68

Aircol CM 68 grades are ashless oils recommended for the lubrication of rotors, bearings and gears in rotary compressors, especially the oil flooded screw type with lubricant drain cycles of up to 2000 hours under normal use. Normal use in screw type compressors is defined by a maximum air discharge temperature =/< 100°C as defined by ISO 6743-3:2003. Aircol CM 68 can be used for either normal or severe duty lubrication of reciprocating and rotary drip-feed air compressors, as defined by ISO 6743. Normal duty is described as:- discharge temperatures =/< 165°C; differential pressures =/< 2.5 MPa (25 bar); discharge pressures =/< 7.0 MPa (70 bar). Severe Duty is described as:- discharge temperatures > 165°C; differential pressures > 2.5 MPa (25 bar); discharge pressures > 7.0 MPa (70 bar). Aircol CM 68 compressor oils exhibit low carbon forming tendencies and meet the requirements of the DIN 51506 VDL classification for reciprocating compressors having air discharge temperatures up to 220°C. Selection of the required viscosity grade should be based upon the compressor manufacturers’ recommendation. However as a general guide Aircol CM 68 would be selected for lubricating the crankcase and cylinders of reciprocating compressors. The Aircol CM 68 is fully compatible with nitrile, silicone and fluropolymer seal materials. Aircol CM 68 is classified as follows: DIN 51506 classification - VDL; ISO 6743/3 - DAA and DAB for reciprocating air compressors, DAG for rotary air compressors. Aircol CM 68 meets the requirements (for appropriate viscosity grade) of major compressor manufacturers such as Atlas Copco, Champion, Sullair, Compair/Broomwade, Ingersoll-Rand, Kaeser and Bauer.

Hyspin HVI 68 oils are intended for severely stressed hydraulic systems requiring a high level of anti-wear performance and fine filtration. In addition, Hyspin HVI 68 exhibits excellent corrosion protection as well as outstanding thermal and oxidative stability. Hyspin HVI 68 has excellent hydrolytic stability and separates rapidly from water contamination.

Hyspin HVI 68 contains a shear stable additive system which helps to maintain the viscosity characteristics of the product over a wide temperature range, even during prolonged use, and imparts a very low pour point which enables the product to be used in cold environments.

Optigear BM is suitable for gears and bearings operating under normal to extreme conditions. Extreme pressure additives make Optigear BM suitable where there is a need to maintain high load carrying capacity while protecting against scuffing and shock loading. Alphasyn T grades have been formulated for use in most types of light to medium duty enclosed gear systems but should not be used for heavy / shock loaded systems. Alphasyn T is also suitable for the lubrication of bearings and circulatory systems operating at high temperatures and various high temperature applications such as in hydraulic systems and for the lubrication of large, slow moving gears. All products in the Alphasyn T range have very low pour points and excellent viscosity/temperature characteristics, allowing their use in both low and high temperature applications. Castrol Aircol SN compressor lubricants are formulated to cope with the severe operating conditions experienced in rotary screw, rotary vane and reciprocating air compressors operating at high compression ratios and high discharge temperatures. Under these conditions Aircol SN compressor oils offer reduced carbon forming tendencies and extended oil life when compared to mineral oils due to their much higher oxidation resistance. In reciprocating units, Aircol SN grades have up to eight times the service life of mineral oils.
