Application Shell Omala S4 GXV 680

Drive systems and other inaccessible installations. Shell Omala S4 GXV 680 is excellent for installations that require an extra long oil bath life and/or where irregular maintenance occurs due to difficult accessibility of the installation. Excellent compatibility with elastomers, paints and sealants. Compatible with a wide range of seals used in industrial systems, e.g. nitrile rubber and fluoroelastomers. Homologated against the stringent Siemens requirements for Flender gears and geared motors. Industrial gearing with closed sump Recommended for industrial gearing under severe operating conditions such as high peak or shock loading and/or low, high or highly fluctuating oil bath temperatures. Other Applications Shell Omala S4 GXV 680 can be used for the lubrication of bearings and other components in systems with circulation or oil splash lubrication. For the lubrication of heavily loaded worm gears, the use of Shell Omala "W" lubricating oils is recommended. For hypoid transmissions in vehicles, the use of suitable Shell Spirax is recommended.

Shell Omala S4 GXV 680 is an advanced synthetic gear oil for heavy-duty applications approved by Siemens AG. It offers excellent lubrication properties under severe conditions, thanks to high resistance to micro-pitting for optimal gear protection, extended oil bath life, reduced coefficient of friction and excellent compatibility with elastomers
 

Performance, Features & Benefits of Shell Omala S4 GXV 680 are:

  • Extended oil life - savings on maintenance. Shell Omala S4 GXV 680 is formulated on the basis of specially selected synthetic base oils in combination with an advanced additive package to ensure long-lasting, high-quality protection under the most extreme conditions. Shell Omala S4 GXV 680 can be successfully used at oil bath temperatures up to 1200C. Shell Omala S4 GXV 680 provides the ability to significantly extend oil change intervals compared to conventional industrial gear oils.
  • Excellent corrosion and wear protection. Shell Omala S4 GXV 680 is formulated to provide excellent protection against micro-pitting, even under shock loading. These properties deliver extended life of the various components, such as gears and bearings, compared to conventional mineral oils. Shell Omala S4 GXV 680 provides excellent corrosion protection even in the presence of contamination from water or solid particles
  • Preservation of system efficiency. Shell Omala S4 GXV 680 helps to increase system efficiency by providing low viscosity at low temperature (start-up) and maintaining a better and stronger oil lubrication film at operating temperature. This is accomplished, among other things, by the lower frictional resistance of the accumulated oil film.
