+ Machine tool hydraulic systems
Particularly recommended for machines which have a ·combined hydraulic and slideway lubrication system.
+ Machine tool gearboxes and spindles
Also suitable for gear and headstock lubrication. The lower viscosity grades are intended for horizontal slide lubrication (Shell Tonna S3 M 32 or 68). For vertical slides use Shell Tonna S3 M 220.

Compatibility & Miscibility ·Compatibility Shell Tellus S3 M 220 fluids are suitable for use with most ·hydraulic pumps. Fluid Compatibility Shell Tellus S3 M 220 is compatible with most other mineral oil based hydraulic fluids. However, mineral oil hydraulic fluids should not be mixed with other fluid types (e.g. environmentally acceptable or fire resistant fluids). Seal & Paint Compatibility Shell Tellus S3 M 220 is compatible with seal materials and paints normally specified for use with mineral oils.
